Greetings from the Key West Command Center.

Well the wind machine does not seem to want to stop. Seems like weeks it has been blowing 20-25 knots out of the east. Looking outside the harbor the water in Hawk’s Channel looks like white chocolate milk. October can be windy but this is over the top.

So with no fishing this week and last we are working on the boat. Projects include painting the decks with new non skid Durabak, new saltwater pumps for the generators, Key West Engine adjusted the values on the MDE’s, new anchor rope and of course a hundred little projects we never seem to get to when the weather is hot. The list gets big quick when we are busy. We obviously take care of the important things as they occur but it never seems to stop. Because it never does not!

Also this week we are prepping for out annual USCG COI inspection next week. This month and next we are doing our dry dock inspection too. It takes me a bit to organize a work list, coordinate the labor force and order the supplies we need. So far we do have some bigger than normal things to do in the yard this time. This time however though I am bringing in some professional help. Hopefully all this planning will cover all the bases. Issues always pop up but by being ready it makes it so much easier.

Only a handful of trips left this year-

So as you can see only a few open boat trips left this year. If you interested we do have room available.

Lastly the weather looks tough for the next trip. It appears we are getting a break on Thursday and Friday. By Friday night the wind will be back up to 20-25 knots. I know everyone wants to get out including me and the crew. However getting the trip in despite the weather is not what I do. Safety and comfort is always first. So if your booked this weekend please stay in contact with the office. We are watching it closely and soon as we make a decision we will let you everyone know.

Thanks for looking, more later.
