Well I am not gonna sugar coat this one. It has been a struggle on the last two Tortugas red snapper trips. Horrible conditions with the tides and current plus a bite that just does not want to happen. Yesterday I was at a loss as to what to do. That does not happen often. If you were on a trip trust me I was embarrassed with the catch. Thankfully this will change, bad catches never last. Thank God.

On a better note catches west of the Dry Tortugas have been steady. A good mix of groupers and snappers. Tunas however come and go. Not sure why but we have not seen and consistency.

I did find some new edges last week. One in particular produced a great triple header. As usual I am always looking and learning. It pays off.

A very bust stretch coming up. Most of it will be spent past the Tortugas. A fair amount of deep dropping on tap plus enough days up on the bank to take a look at a few more new areas to me. My expectations are high and I have a good feeling too. Without a doubt my favorite time of the year, summer weather is special.

Lastly the new schedule for 2019 is up through July of 2019. Some new trips and some old. Plus more open boat trips to accommodate anglers in the month of June when red snappers are open. Please click here.

Heading out again tonight and Thursday with charters. I should have a report Sunday, thanks for looking.
